Problem with cultural adjustment?

I'm not Canadian but I think I have a good suggestion to share. My family came to the U.S. in 1960. We came from the Netherlands. Before that we lived in Indonesia. My father is a Dutchman and my mother was from Thailand. When we came here they did not know anyone but the people at the church who sponsored us. They were all Americans. Eventually my parents were introduced to other Dutch and Dutch-Indo families. Later my mother was introduced to Thai women and so it goes on. They had a mixture of friends. You might want to do as they did. Look on line and see if there are Canadian/Indian social groups. You'd be surprised what you will find. Good luck and God Bless.
