How many times did an ELE make it necessary for evolution to create another version of mankind?

A human is any member of the genus - there have several species. It's true that our's is the only extant species but there have ben no ELEs since our genus arose - the last was over 65 million years ago. Our species outcompeted others, and probably hybrized with them as well, but no ELE was involved in our direct line.
