Did Muhammad write the Quran?

According to the Koran and the hadiths, Muhammad was not able to read or to write. The Koran was composed of what Muhammad had his followers remember, as some modern Muslims can do to this day. In fact, IIRC, some consider the Koran to only be holy if it is spoken word.
